Protest Against Ehud Barak’s Visit to Brighton

Action Alert
> Protest Against Ehud Barak’s Visit to Brighton

Join a protest outside the Grand Hotel, Brighton at 8.30pm on Tuesday 29 September, 2009, where Barak will be addressing the Labour Friends of Israel.

The presence of Barak, who is also Israel’s deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Labour Party, is certain to be controversial given the hostility of many Labour Party members to Israel, and his role in Operation Cast Lead in Gaza earlier this year.

Many Israeli politicians and IDF members refuse to visit Britain, given their fear of arrest under warrants sought by anti-Israel activists.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s visit earlier this month was kept low key, with no public events. Mr Barak’s decision to speak at the LFI meeting is the first by a senior Israeli minister since the new government took office in February.

The Pilgrimage To Makkah
Never have I witnessed such sincere hospitality and overwhelming spirit of true brotherhood as is practiced by people of all colors and races here in this ancient Holy Land, the home of Abraham, Muhammad and all the other Prophets of the Holy Scriptures. For the past week, I have been utterly speechless and spellbound by the graciousness I see displayed all around me by people of all colors.
